These are the applications for condonation of delay of 1963 days in filing First Appeals by the land owners under Section 54 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

Although, the delay is inordinate, having regard to the fact that the matters pertain to Land Acquisition Act, I am inclined to condone the delay on the condition that the land owners/applicants will not be

11-ca-2724-2024.odt entitled for interest on the amount of compensation, if any, that may be enhanced (market value + statutory benefits) for the period of delay as also subject to the condition that cost of Rs.5,000/- (in both applications) be deposited with the Registry i.e. the Committee consisting of learned Registrar (Administration) of the High Court, Bench at Aurangabad and the Medical Officer of the High Court Medical Dispensary, Aurangabad, within a period of 12 weeks from today.
