The present petitioner had approached the authorities seeking correction in his name in the school record. The school authority refused the correction in view of Rule 26.04 of Madhyamik Shala Sanhita. The limited grievance of the petitioner is only correction of the name in the School Record.

The learned Advocate for the petitioner relies on the judgment of the Full Bench of this Court in the case of Janabai d/o Himmatrao Thakur vs. State of Maharashtra and Ors. reported in 2019(6) Mh.L.J. 769, wherein this Court has held that when the obvious mistakes are appearing on the face of the record, correction can be made. This Court while passing the judgment has considered scope of Secondary Schools Code, Cls. 26.3 and 26.4.

Considering the above position, this Court find that this petition can be disposed of conveniently by remanding the matter to the authorities for consideration afresh.

The petitioner to appear before Respondent No.2 i.e. Education Officer, Secondary, Zilla Parishad, Beed on 22.12.2025. The Education Officer to consider and decide the representation, e-mail etc. in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter. 5.

With this, Writ Petition stands disposed of.
