The proceedings initiated by the petitioners under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, are pending since 2009 with respondent no.2.

By this petition, the petitioners pray for a direction for an expeditious hearing of the pending proceedings.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed off. By following the due procedure, respondent no.2 shall decide the pending proceedings vide application dated 18.08.2008 under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, as expeditiously as possible and in any case on or before

wp14075.18 (2) 15.03.2022. Respondent no.2 shall keep in mind that a request for extension of time will not be entertained. In the event there is a deficiency in co-operation from the petitioners, respondent no.2 would be at liberty to approach this Court for further orders through a Civil Application. (S. G. MEHARE, J.)
