The petitioner seeks correction of date of birth in the school record. The petitioner wants his date of birth to be changed to "03.07.1995" instead of "03.07.1996" recorded.

The petitioner does not want his age to be reduced, but seeks increase in age. The petitioner has recently left the school and is taking education.

In light of the that, the petitioner shall apply with respondent No.6-School for change of date of birth in the school record. Respondent No.6, on receipt of the application from the petitioner, shall immediately refer it to the Education Officer, Beed. The Education Officer, Beed shall consider the said application and decide it on its own merits and shall not reject it only on the ground that the petitioner has left the school. The parties shall follow the procedure as laid down in Clause 26.4 read with Appendix VI of the Secondary School Code. On receipt of the application, the Education Officer shall take decision within four (04) weeks. Pune Zilla Parishad shall also, if application is pending for change of date of birth, shall decide it within four (04) weeks. 4.
Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
