We have considered the brief submissions of the learned Advocates for the appearing parties. The Petitioners claim that, their lands have been acquired by private negotiations on 19/03/2003 for the construction of the Percolation Tank No.5 at Gaurwadi, Tq. Kaij, Dist. Beed vide file No. LNQ/SR/22/07. The Zilla Parishad has forwarded the proposal for measurement of the lands of the Petitioners to the District Collector. However, neither the lands have been measured, nor have further steps for acquisition, award and payment of compensation, been initiated.

In view of the above, we direct Respondent No.2/ District Collector, Beed, to consider the representations of the Petitioners, dated 05/10/2018, 03/01/2019 and 15/02/2019 and initiate effective steps for causing a measurement. This exercise be completed within 60 days from today. Thereafter, further steps shall be initiated after verifying the area of the lands of the Petitioners, having been acquired for the Percolation Tank. These steps shall be in tune with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

With the above directions, this petition is disposed off.
