By this writ petition, the petitioner challenges the order of the Superintending Engineer, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited dated 04/11/2015 as being contrary to the provisions of the Service Regulations.

Shri Mohogaonkar, the learned counsel for the respondents, raises a preliminary objection to the tenability of the writ petition. It is stated that the petitioner has an alternate remedy of filing an appeal against the impugned order.

In view of the existence of the alternate efficacious remedy, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition. The writ petition is therefore, disposed of with no order as to costs. If the appeal is filed by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the same within a period of three months from the date of filing of the appeal, as the petitioner is due to retire in the near future. Order accordingly.
