By this petition, the petitioners seek a direction to the respondent no.2 to grant the environmental clearance for excavation of sand at Kochhi Sand Ghat.
It appears on hearing the learned Counsel for the parties that during the pendency of the writ petition, the period for which the Sand Ghat was to be auctioned has expired and therefore, a fresh auction notice has been floated by the respondent no.4.
In view of the aforesaid position, the cause for filing the writ petition has been rendered infructuous. The writ petition is disposed of as infructuous with no order as to costs.
