The only relief sought by the petitioner is a direction that the caste claim made by him before the Scrutiny Committee in the year 2007 be directed to be decided within a stipulated period.

Shri S. Y. Deopujari, the learned Government Pleader submits that if the petitioner co-operates with the Scrutiny Committee, the caste claim would be decided within a period of six months. In that view of the matter, the following order is passed. (i) The petitioner shall appear before the Scrutiny Committee on 20.01.2020.

Subject to his co-operating with the Scrutiny Committee and prosecuting the matter diligently, the Scrutiny Committee shall decide the caste claim within a period of six months from that date.

2 14.WP179.19.odt (ii) The interim order protecting the services of the petitioner shall continue to operate till the aforesaid adjudication is completed.

(iii) The Writ Petition is disposed of with aforesaid directions. No costs.
