By this contempt petition, the petitioners had sought action against the respondents for willful disobedience of the order dated 28.10.2014 in Writ Petition No.2009/2014. During the pendency of the contempt petition, the earnest amount was refunded to the petitioners, however, the interest at the rate of 10% per annum as directed by the order dated 28.10.2014 was not paid. The learned Assistant Government Pleader was asked to make a statement as to when the amount of interest would be paid.
Shri Rode, the learned Assistant Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents, states that the interest amount would be paid to the petitioners as early as possible and positively within two weeks.
By accepting the statement made by the learned Assistant Government Pleader, which would be binding on the respondents, we dispose of the contempt petition with no order as to costs.
