CORAM : A. S. CHANDURKAR AND VINAY JOSHI, JJ. DATE : FEBRUARY 04, 2020 The Scrutiny Committee seeks extension of time to complete the process of verification of the plaintiff's casteclaim. By the judgment dated 25/07/2019 the Scrutiny Committee was directed to decide the caste-claim of the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from 01/08/2019. Thereafter by order dated 07/10/2019 further time of three months was granted to decide the caste-claim. In the present application it is stated that for ascertaining the relationship of the petitioner with one Pritam Agdari and Kumar Sagar Ankloo Agdari who have been issued validity certificate, further time is required. Prayer is to grant time of six months in that regard.

The request is opposed by the learned counsel for the petitioner on the ground that in the light of the validity certificate issued to the aforesaid blood relatives, nothing

901-CAW-85-20 2/2 further is required to be seen by the Scrutiny Committee. There is no justifiable reason therefor to extend the time. Having considered the application and its contents it is seen that the Scrutiny Committee in the light of the validity certificate issued to the blood relatives desires to examine their relationship with the petitioner. In that view of the matter and by way of last chance time of three months is granted for deciding the caste-claim of the petitioner. It is made clear that no further extension of time would be granted.

According to the learned counsel for the petitioner the petitioner desires to contest elections. The programme of those elections is yet to be declared. It is open for the petitioner to take such steps in case any election programme is declared.
