The Petitioner, by filing this petition on 08 January 2020 seeks a writ to Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 for consideration of the Petitioner's application for providing appointment on compassionate ground after the death of her father. 2.

The Petitioner's father expired on 10 April 2006 when he was in service of Respondent No.3.

Though the Petitioner has narrated various steps that Petitioner has stated to have taken, since the Petitioner is invoking SUMIT

2 / 2 9-WP-729-2020 writ jurisdiction of this Court for a direction of the nature as above, the delay in approaching the Court will have to be considered, more particularly, keeping in mind the object of appointment on compassionate ground which is to provide immediate support to the family of the deceased employee and loss of a breadwinner. In light of this object, the delay of 14 years cannot be countenanced. 4.
