The petitioner is a student who claims to belong to '

Halbi' Scheduled Tribe. He has obtained a caste certificate on 04.01.2019 from Sub-Divisional Officer, Umarkhed. The petitioner intends to appear for the NEET examination which is to be conducted in May 2020. His caste claim has been submitted for verification on 07.10.2019. A limited relief sought by the petitioner is a direction to the Scrutiny Committee to decide the petitioner's caste claim expeditiously.

In view of aforesaid facts and as the petitioner intends to appear for the NEET examination in May 2020, the Scrutiny Committee is directed to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of three months from the first date of appearance of the petitioner before it. The petitioner shall appear before the Scrutiny Committee

WP309.2020 2/2 on 01.02.2020 and co-operate with the Scrutiny Committee in that regard.

With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Rule accordingly. No costs.
