This contempt petition is with regard to non-compliance of the order dated 25/02/2020 in Writ Petition No. 8525/2019 whereby the directions were issued to adjudicate the caste claim of the petitioner by the end of June, 2020.

Mrs. Jachak, learned Assistant Government Pleader for the respondent/State submitted that the respondent - the Scrutiny committee by an order dated 23/02/2021 have considered the caste claim of the petitioner and as it was submitted before the Scrutiny Committee that the claim of one Anand Nilkantha Katole, relative of the petitioner is pending before the Hon' ble

06cp19.21.odt Supreme Court for decision and hence, the committee has decided to adjourn the case of the petitioner who is the relative of Anand Katole till the final decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of State of Maharashtra Vs. Anand Nilkantha Katole, SLA CC No. 10240/2014.

Keeping the decision pending in the petitioner's matter considering the fact that the matter having similar issue of the relative of the petitioner, subjudice before the Hon'ble Apex Court, we do not see any act of contempt on the part of the respondent. Given these facts, nothing survives in the petition. Even if, the petitioner has any grievance, he is at liberty to agitate the same in an independent proceeding.
