By this writ petition, the petitioners have sought a direction against the respondents to pay the compensation for the acquired land of the petitioners as determined by the award and also grant 8% rental compensation to the petitioners in view of the Government Resolution, dated 14.6.2001. Mrs. K.R. Deshpande, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent nos.1 and 2 states that there were certain deficiencies in the proposal that was initially received by the Commissioner for payment of compensation to the petitioners and now through the proper channel a fresh proposal is submitted to the Commissioner after removing the deficiencies on 21.7.2016. It is stated that some time would be required for making the payment of compensation to the petitioners.

Mrs. S.W. Deshpande, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent nos.3 and 4 states that the amount liable to be paid to the petitioners as per the award as also the rental compensation would be paid to the petitioners as early as possible.

2 wp854.16.odt By accepting the statements made on behalf of the respondents, we dispose of the writ petition, with a direction to the respondents to pay the compensation to the petitioners, as determined by the award with 8% rental compensation from the date of acquiring the actual possession as per the possession receipts to the petitioners within four months. Order accordingly. No costs.
