Pursuant to the application made by the Petitioners, the office of the Special Land Acquisition Officer/ Collector, Nagpur has responded to the Petitioners, annexing copies of the correspondence addressed to the Executive Engineer, Irrigation Division, Nagpur. It is the stand of the Collector, which can be seen from this response, that in spite of repeated requests, the Executive Engineer is not responding to the same, neither any Officer has remained present. The communication dated 27 January 2022 states that in spite of the repeated phone calls, nobody has remained present.

If that be so, the office of the Collector is not powerless to take necessary action. If the Executive Engineer is not listening to the orders of the Collector, the Collector can escalate the issue to the Higher Authorities. It is unfortunate that for these kind of matters, the Petitioners have to approach the Court, where delay is only because one department is not cooperating with another. 3.

We place the responsibility of taking necessary steps within time on the Collector, Nagpur and upon the superiors of Respondent No.2, who will ensure that necessary action is taken within a period of four weeks.
