This Petition filed in Public Interest seeks to question the policy dated 3 September 2019 framed by the State of Maharashtra in respect of sand mining. The policy of 3 September 2019 is now no longer in existence and a new policy is framed on 20 January 2022.

The learned Counsel for the Petitioners seeks leave to amend the Petition to challenge the said policy. According to us, it will be appropriate if a fresh Petition is filed, as, though there may be Lanjewar

The Public Interest Litigation is disposed of. 4.

It is open to the Petitioners or any other public-spirited person to file a fresh Petition for the cause as above, after following the Rules, and if the Court is satisfied with the bona fides of the cause.
