DATED : 17-0 7We are not required to delve deeper into the merits of the grievance as regards the additional property tax demanded by the respondent- Municipal Council.

It is common ground that the legality and quantum of the property tax can be decided in appeal.

However, considering that it would be more appropriate if the petitioner prefers detailed objections with the Municipal Council, we are inclined to dispose of the petition with the following directions.

2 w.p. 925.2018.odt (i) We permit the petitioner to submit detailed objections to the demand of additional property tax within the next two weeks and if objections are filed, the Municipal Council shall decide the same on merit and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner, within four weeks from its receipt.

(ii) All contentions are left open.

The petition is disposed of.
