By this writ petition, the petitioner, which is a nonrecognized Union of employees, has sought a direction to the respondents to pay the salary to the employees working in the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation at par with the employees working in the State Government, Water Resources Department, Nagpur Municipal Corporation and the other departments.

We are afraid that the direction, as sought by the petitioner cannot be granted, in exercise of the writ jurisdiction. A direction cannot be issued to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation in writ jurisdiction to grant pay to its Class-III and Class-IV employees at the scale/rate at which it is paid to the employees in some other departments in the State Government or the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation and the State Government are different entities and no direction could be issued to any of them to grant the pay scales at the rate at which they are awarded to the employees of some other departments. In the circumstances of the case, we dismiss the writ petition with no order as to costs.
