Patil, Advocate has entered appearance for the petitioner, Shri C. A. Babrekar, Advocate shall be discharged. The challenge raised in this writ petition is to the order of suspension dated 07/10/2020 issued by the respondent No.1. As a result of that order, the services of the petitioner have been placed under suspension. According to the respondents the Grievances Committee constituted under Section 79 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 has jurisdiction to consider challenge to the order of suspension and further remedy of appeal under Section 81(1)(b) of the said Act is available before the University and College Tribunal.

Since an efficacious statutory remedy is available to the petitioner, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition. If the petitioner within a period of three weeks from today moves the Grievances Committee for challenging the order of suspension, the said Committee shall consider that grievance of the petitioner expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months from raising such grievance. All points in writ petition are kept open.
