By this appeal, the appellant has challenged the impugned award dated 20.10.2023 passed by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Amravati in Motor Accident Claim Petition No.261 of 2014, thereby granting compensation of Rs.26,728/- alongwith interest @ 6% p.a. towards disablement caused to Sahebrao Ganpatrao Chavhan on account of vehicular accident occurred on 19.06.2014.

Needless to mention that as per Section 173 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, no appeal shall lie against any award of a Claims Tribunal, in which compensation of less than

Rs.1,00,000/- has been granted. In view of statutory bar, the appeal is not maintainable against granted compensation amount of Rs.26,728/-, therefore, the appeal is dismissed with no order as to costs.
