The only prayer made by the petitioners is for a direction to the State Government to hold the elections to A.P.M.C., Tumsar, after conducting the elections of the managing committee members of the Agriculture Credit Societies and Multi-purpose Cooperative Societies in the area of operation of A.P.M.C., Tumsar. The petitioners seek their continuation as the members of A.P.M.C. Tumsar, till the elections are held.

Ms T. Khan, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondent nos.1 and 2, states on the basis of the affidavit-in-reply filed on behalf of the respondent nos.1 and 2 that the elections to the managing committee of the Agriculture Credit Societies and Multi-purpose Co-operative Societies is already held and there is no hindrance in conducting the elections to A.P.M.C. Tumsar. It is submitted that the State Government would conduct the elections to A.P.M.C. Tumsar within a reasonable time. In view of the statement made on behalf of the respondent nos.1 and 2, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondent nos.1 and 2 to hold the elections to A.P.M.C. Tumsar within a period of four months.

WP763-15 The order of status quo to operate only till the elections are held.

Order accordingly. No costs.
