DATED : 22-02-2024 In view of provisions of sub-section (5) of Section 33 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act which provides for a remedy of dispute being preferred before the Collector in relation to the election of Sarpanch, the petition is not pressed.

We permit the petitioner to raise a dispute before the Collector.

If such a dispute is raised by the petitioner within a period of one week from today, we direct the Collector to decide it expeditiously.

4.

Needless to say, the time spent in pursuing remedy before this Court, be considered in the dispute which will be filed before the Collector.
