By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent-Western Coalfields Limited, to consider the application of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground, in view of the provisions of 9.3.0 of the National Coal Wage Agreement.

According to the petitioner, the father of the petitioner expired on 29.9.2014, while he was in service of the respondent-Western Coalfields Limited. The petitioner's mother had expired long back and the petitioner has two sisters and a brother, who are minor and are prosecuting their studies. Since the petitioner has attained majority, she applied to the respondentWestern Coalfields Limited for appointment on compassionate ground, in view of the National Coal

14.09.wp.2006.15 Wage Agreement. The respondent-WCL has not decided the Application of the petitioner.

Though we had issued a notice of final disposal to the respondent and the respondent is duly served, none appears on behalf of the respondent.

In the circumstances of the case, we dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to the respondent to decide the Application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment as early as possible and positively within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

Order accordingly.

No costs.
