The present public interest litigation is filed with regard to certain malpractices in Jalswaraj Yojana executed for Gram Panchayat, Mandhal.

Insofar as the persons, who are prima-facie found responsible for the malpractices, the First Information Report is already lodged. Apart from that, a consumer case has already been initiated against the supplier. Insofar the completion of the scheme is concerned, the learned counsel for the Zilla Parishad has placed on record a copy of the order dated 27.01.2014 by which a technical sanction has been granted for completing the work of Water Supply Scheme to village Mandhal. The learned counsel for the Zilla Parishad submits that after the technical sanction is granted by the competent authority, the work would be completed within a period of six months.

PIL50-13 In that view of the matter, we dispose of the petition by directing the respondent-Zilla Parishad to complete the water supply scheme of village Madhal within a period of one year. Needless to state that the Gram Panchayat should provide all the necessary assistance to the Zill Parishad for completion of the work within the prescribed period. No costs.
