DATE : SEPTEMBER 06 , 2016.
Shri Tambde, the learned counsel for the petitioner, states that the issue, whether the upper age limit for grant of license to a weighman under the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Act, 1963 is 58 years and/or whether there should not be an upper age limit for a weighman, came up for consideration before this Court in Writ Petition No.6343 of 2013 and this Court has, by an order dated 17.11.2014, issued Rule and granted interim relief in favour of the petitioners therein. It is stated that the respondents were directed to consider renewing the license of the petitioners in the said case though they had crossed the age of 58 years. It is stated that in the aforesaid background, the petitioner is interested in filing a writ petition challenging the policy of the State Government. The learned counsel seeks permission to withdraw the writ petition, in this background. Permission to withdraw the writ petition is granted.
The writ petition stands disposed of as withdrawn.
The points raised in the petition are kept open. JUDGE APTE
