The applicant is apprehending arrest in Crime 34/2020 registered with Police Station Lonar, District Buldhana for offence punishable under section 7 of the Preservation of Corruption Act (for short 'Act'). 3.

Irrefutably, the alleged bribe was not accepted. However, the applicant is charged under section 7 of the Act on the allegation that on 31.01.2020 he demanded an amount of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for not initiating action.

Considering the nature of the accusations, it is apparent that custodial interrogation is not necessary. In any event, pursuant to the condition imposed while

aba155.20.O.odt granting interim protection the applicant has attended the Anti Corruption Bureau and his statement is recorded. 5.

The interim protection granted vide order dated 09.03.2020 is made absolute with the only modification that till the charge-sheet is filed, the applicant shall attend the concerned police station as and when required by the Investigating Officer.
