Heard Mrs. Archana Lanjewar, learned counsel (appointed) for the petitioner and Mrs. M.H. Deshmukh, learned APP for the respondents.

In this petition, the petitioner challenges the order dated 23.04.2018, which rejected the application of the petitioner for grant of remission to him as per Government Resolution dated 03.06.2017, issued on the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

By the impugned order, he was denied the benefit of remission in view of serious nature of the offence committed by him. Apart from the aforesaid reason, today only we have decided Criminal Writ Petition No. 235 if 2019 filed by this very petitioner

2201cwp181.19 whereby we confirmed the order of prison punishment to the petitioner by removing his name permanently from the remission register.

In this view of the matter, the petitioner would not be entitled for the benefit under the aforesaid Government Resolution dated 03.06.2017. In the circumstances, Criminal Writ Petition needs to be dismissed and the same is accordingly dismissed.

Fee of the learned counsel appointed for the petitioner is quantified at Rs.2,000/- (Rs. Two thousand only).
