The petitioner seeks grant of a validity certificate of belonging to 'Mana' Scheduled Tribe. It is his case that his two sisters have been issued validity certificate by the Scrutiny Committee at Nagpur. He seeks to pursue higher education and hence is in need of determination of his social status.

Ms N. P. Mehta, learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner has been heard in the proceedings and the orders on the prayer for grant of a validity certificate are awaited.

In these facts, the Scrutiny Committee is directed to take a decision on the petitioner's tribe claim within a period of four weeks from today on its own merit and in accordance with law. The letter of appointment that has been issued to the petitioner by the respondent no.2 on 06.01.2023 may not be cancelled for a period of four weeks from today.
