By this writ petition, the petitioner challenges the order of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, dated 06/09/2014, rejecting the candidature of the petitioner for appointment on the post of Conductor (Junior) reserved for the Scheduled Caste woman belonging to the sports category. The relief sought by the petitioner cannot be granted. The respondent No.2 had directed the petitioner to remain present along with the necessary documents as per the additional select list on 28/06/2013. The petitioner did not remain present on 17/07/2014 and made a request to appear before the Committee later. The petitioner submitted the necessary documents to the respondent No.2 for verification on 06/09/2014, but the respondent rejected the candidature of the petitioner by the order dated 06/09/2014 that is impugned in the instant petition. Though the order is passed on 06/09/2014 and the candidature of the petitioner is rejected in September, 2014, the writ petition is filed on 10/03/2016. There is no explanation whatsoever for the inordinate delay in filing the writ

If the petitioner was not informed as to why her candidature was rejected in September, 2014, it was necessary for the petitioner to approach this Court within a reasonable time from September, 2014. However, the writ petition is filed more than 18 months after the candidature of the petitioner was rejected. Since there is no explanation for the inordinate delay in filing the writ petition, the petition is liable to be dismissed.

The writ petition is dismissed as such with no order as to costs.
