Petitioner a Sarpanch questions orders disqualifying her. First order was passed by respondent no.2 - Additional Collector on 31/12/2003 and it was maintained in appeal on 30/4/2004 by respondent no.1.

On 16/6/2004 this Court has taken note of fact that petitioner's caste claim has been validated by competent scrutiny committee on 2/6/2004 and therefore stayed these orders. With the result, petitioner continued as Sarpanch. 4.

This interim order was confirmed on 14/12/2004. 5.

Normally tenure of elected body is five years and hence, after 2004 there may have been two or three elections. 6.

Hence, by passage of time, challenge has become infructuous. Writ Petition is disposed of. Rule stands discharged. No costs.
