By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the scrutiny committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a time frame. The petitioner also seeks a direction to the respondents to protect the education of the petitioner till his caste claim is decided.
Shri Rode, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for the Committee, states that the caste claim of the petitioner is pending before the scrutiny committee and the same would be decided within a reasonable time.
In view of the statement made by the learned Assistant Government Pleader, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the scrutiny committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner as early as possible and positively within a period of nine months. The education of the petitioner is protected till his caste claim is decided by the scrutiny committee, meaning thereby that the result of the petitioner should be declared and the petitioner should be permitted to prosecute his studies and appear in the examination, if there is no other impediment in permitting him to do so. Order accordingly. No costs.
