Hearing was conducted through video conferencing and the learned counsel agreed that the audio and visual quality was proper.

The accusation which the applicant is facing is that he and his wife conspired, and acting pursuant to common intention brutally killed Mr. Narayan. 3.

The first informant is the wife of the deceased. She has stated that at 12:15 noon on 21.11.2016 the applicant and his wife barged in her house. The applicant was welding a big knife. The wife of the applicant pointed to the husband of the first informant and told the applicant that he is the said man. The applicant thereafter killed Narayan by inflicting knife blows. The applicant was apprehended by the Security Guard and some residents.

The submission is that the co-accused is granted bail. That the co-accused, who is a woman, and whose role is quite different from that of the applicant, is granted bail is irrelevant. The principle of parity cannot be invoked. 5.

The other submission is that there is undue delay in trial. The submission also deserves rejection. The trial has commenced and five witnesses are already examined. 6.

No case is made out for grant of bail.

It is hoped that the trial shall be completed expeditiously.

The application is dismissed.
