The petitioner seeks grant of deemed date of promotion on the post of Assistant Accounts Officer. This request has been turned down by the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parisahd, Gadchiroli by the order dated 29/09/2014. Being aggrieved the petitioner has filed an appeal under Rule 14 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samities (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1964. It is submitted that this appeal is pending since 2016 without any adjudication.

In view of aforesaid the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No.1 to decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner under Rule 14 of the Rules of 1964 within a period of eight weeks from the date parties appear before the said Authority. The parties shall appear before the Divisional Commissioner on 22/03/2022. The appeal be decided on its own merits and in accordance with law. Rule accordingly. No costs. (Smt M. S. Jawalkar, J.) (A.
