DATE : 23/10/2020 In this petition, there is no mention whatsoever regarding the petitioner having first approached the respondents for grant of remission of sentence, in terms of the Government Resolution dated 03/06/2017.

It would be necessary for the petitioner to approach the authorities in the first instance for such kind of relief. If the petitioner has already approached, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the same before the competent authority.

Thus, we find this petition is premature and is dismissed as such.
