It appears on a reading of the prayer clause that the cause for filing the writ petition is rendered infructuous, as the petitioner has challenged the order of rejection of nomination form of the petitioner. Since the term of the elected body of the gram panchayat is only five years and the petition is filed in the year 2005, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed.

Hence, we dismiss the same with no order as to costs. Rule stands discharged.
