The petitioner is Employees Provident Fund Organization, which has lodged a report with the police alleging that there is large scale of misuse of online EPFO Portal in respect of registration of fake employees on large scale, running into thousands in number.

The learned Addl.P.P. has submitted that the police have asked the petitioner about the exact amount of deceived money, however, it was Rgd.

Order 0708wp217.23 not supplied. In response, the petitioner would submit that it has provided all the details.

Perusal of papers reveals that the matter needs investigation. Obviously after carrying out investigation, the police may take appropriate decision, as is permissible in law. 5.

In view of that, we direct respondent nos. 3, 5 and 7 to register crime and proceed further in accordance with law. The petitioner is directed to supply additional set of application with documents to the concerned police.

Criminal Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of.
