By way of present petition, the petitioner prays for directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the petitioner's application dated 05.11.2024 in respect of a temporary permit for vehicle registration No.MH-48 K1342 for the period from 01.12.2024 till 30.03.2025. 2.

Considering the period mentioned in the application, it can be seen that the period is over and now even if any decision is taken on the same, no temporary permit can be granted for such period.

It is an unfortunate situation that the application for a temporary permit was pending for a long period, and the authorities, despite being duty bound to take a decision, failed to do so. It is expected that such an order shall always be passed within reasonable period.

In that view of the matter, for the ends of justice, we accept the request of the petitioner and permit her to make a fresh application to the respondent No.2. 5.

The respondent No.2 is directed to decide the petitioner's application for temporary permit, if any made, within ten days from the receipt of the application. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of.
