DATE : 05.04.2016 By this writ petition, the petitioners had challenged the postponement of the elections and had sought a direction to the respondent no.1 to consider the proposal of the Market Committee for extending the period of the Market Committee till the holding of the fresh elections.
Mrs. Dangre, the learned Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent nos.1 to 3 states, on instructions, that the term of the present Market Committee would be extended till the fresh elections are conducted. It is stated that till the new Body takes charge, after fresh elections, the Members on the present Market Committee could continue.
0504wp2055.16.odt In view of the statement made by the learned Government Pleader, the learned Counsel for the petitioners has tendered a pursis in the Court today. It is stated that in view of the statement made by the learned Government Pleader, the petitioners are not desirous of pressing the relief claimed in the instant petition.
In view of the statements recorded herein above, we dispose of the writ petition by accepting the statement made by the learned Government Pleader on behalf of the respondent nos.1 to 3. The election to the Market Committee should be concluded by the respondent nos.1 to 3 within a period of six months.
Order accordingly. No costs.
