The petition claims direction to the respondent - Scrutiny Committee to decide his caste claim for "Halbi" (Scheduled Tribe) within a stipulated period.

Ms. Kalia, learned Assistant Government Pleader invited our attention to the communication dated 25.04.2017 issued by the Scrutiny Committee informing that the proposal for verification of caste claim of the petitioner has not been forwarded through proper channel and the requirements have not been complied with. It is further stated that if the petitioner complies with all the requirements, his caste claim can be decided on merits.

In view of the aforesaid position, we grant permission to the petitioner to approach the Scrutiny Committee. After following the procedure as prescribed and complying with the online requirements, the Committee shall decide caste claim on its own merit. 4.
Writ Petition stands disposed of.
