DATE : 07/08/2020 Heard Shri Wasade, learned advocate for the petitioner and Shri Kadukar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.

The petition seeks extension of parole. It is trite to note that Rule 25 of the Prisons (Bombay Furlough and Parole) Rules, 1959, which earlier contemplated extension of parole, has been deleted w.e.f. 16/4/2018, as a result of which the writ petition clearly is not tenable, in light of which, the learned Counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty to withdraw the same.

The criminal writ petition is accordingly disposed of as withdrawn.

0708WP294.2020.odt Learned Counsel for the petitioner be paid Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand Only) towards fees and expenses.
