The challenge raised in this writ petition is to the order dated 17.05.2021 that was issued by the Collector, Gondia. By that order for the Season 2020-21 the handling of CMR (Customized Milling Rice) work was allotted to the respondent no.3 in view of the fact that the rates quoted by the respondent no.3 were lower than the rates quoted by the petitioners. The petitioners are principally concerned with carrying out the aforesaid work in Talukas - Goregaon and Sadak Arjuni. According to the petitioners, the respondent no.3 is registered at Taluka Aamgaon and therefore the rates quoted by the respondent no.3 could not have been accepted for TalukasGoregaon and Sadak Arjuni. On that basis, the work order could not have been allotted to the respondent no.3.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for the respondent nos. 1 and 2 and Shri A.A.Naik, learned counsel for the respondent no.3 submit that the Season 2020-21 has come to an end and hence no useful purpose would be served now by considering the challenge as raised to the order dated 17.05.2021.

25.WP1878.21.odt 2 Considering the fact that Season 2020-21 has come to an end and as the work order dated 17.05.2021 was to operate only for that season, the challenge as raised to the said order has now academic. Accordingly by keeping the points raised in the writ petition open for being raised, if the occasion arises in future, the writ petition is disposed of in these circumstances. No costs.
