By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the State Government to appoint the petitioner on the post of Police Constable, as he is placed in the waiting list at Sr.No.1. Shri Rode, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents, raises a preliminary objection to the tenability of the writ petition, in view of the existence of the alternate efficacious remedy. It is stated that the petitioner ought to have filed an original application under Section 19 of the Administrative Tribunals Act.

By upholding the preliminary objection, raised on behalf of the respondents, we decline to entertain the writ petition. The writ petition is disposed of with no order as to costs. The points raised in the petition are kept open.
