In this contempt petition none has appeared on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3, when the petition is called out for hearing today. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that although a cheque of Rs.9,75,000/- [Rupees Nine Lakh Seventy Five Thousand only] has been handed over to the petitioner, when the said cheque was sought to be

2 / 3 17-WP CP 94.2020 deposited, was returned on the ground that a letter is required from the authority issuing the cheque, since the amount mentioned in the cheque is more than Rs.5,00,000/-. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that, when the respondents were requested to given such a letter, they have failed to do so. 4.

It is further pointed that the respondents have not informed the petitioner, as to under what head the said amount has been paid to the petitioner. He has been only orally informed that it pertains to arrears of pension. It is further pointed out that current pension is not being disbursed to the petitioner.

In view of the above, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Nagpur - Mr. Yogesh s/o Vijay Kumbhejkar, who has sworn an affidavit dated 11/02/2021, filed before this Court, shall immediately issue the aforementioned letter, in any case within one week, in favour of the petitioner, so that the cheque handed over to him is encashed. 6.

List this contempt petition for further consideration on 07th July, 2021. If the said letter is not issued in favour of the petitioner before the next date of listing, the said Mr. Yogesh s/o. Vijay
