By an order dated 05/03/2018, the Scheduled Tribe Caste Scrutiny Committee, Nagpur, declared that the petitioner's original place of residence is Paratwada, Tal. Achalpur, District Amravati and the caste certificate obtained by him as belonging to 'Thakur' Scheduled Tribe from Nagpur District was cancelled and came to be confiscated. However, while doing so, the Committee also conferred liberty upon the petitioner to obtain a fresh certificate in Form-C from the Competent Authority.
2.
Pursuant to said liberty, the petitioner by preferring an application, on 08/08/2023 received a caste-certificate declaring that Santoshsingh Raghunathsingh Chouhan of Village/Town Paratwada, Taluka Achalpur, District/Division Amravati of the State belongs to the 'Thakur' tribe Sr. No.44 which is recognised as a Scheduled Tribe under The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes), Order 1950. The certificate issued by the Sub Divisional Officer, Achalpur on 11/09/2023 is produced before us by Shri Phadnis with a categorical statement that this certificate is now forwarded for verification to the Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Amravati Division, Amravati i.e.

3.
Accepting the aforesaid statement, the present petition has been rendered infructuous, as when it was instituted in the year 2018, a challenge was raised to the decision of the Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Nagpur Division, Nagpur cancelling and confiscating the caste-certificate. In the wake of subsequent events, now the petitioner is armed with the caste-certificate issued by the Sub Divisional Officer, Achalpur since he is found to be resident of said region and this certificate is now subjected to verification. According to aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. (Abhay J. Mantri, J.) (Bharati Dangre, J.) Asmita
