The petitioner who claims to be a recognized post-graduate teacher at Gondwana University is aggrieved by the rejection of her nomination form on the ground that the mandatory requirement as prescribed by Section 40(2)(d)(i) of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 2016 has not been satisfied. We have heard the learned counsel for the parties and we find that the petitioner submitted her proposal on 2-1-2023 to the Principal of the College for recognition as a post-graduate teacher in the Post Graduate Department of Sociology. Pending this application, recommendation was made by the Registrar to treat the petitioner as a recognized teacher in the elections for Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Sociology.

In absence of any specific order of recognition and in the light of the fact that the petitioner's application seeking such recognition is pending with the Assistant Registrar, Ph.D. Cell, we do not find any reason to interfere with the order passed by the Vice Chancellor on 28-3-2023 upholding the rejection of the petitioner's nomination form. The writ petition therefore stands dismissed. The respondent No.2 is however directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 2-1-2023 seeking recognition as post-graduate teacher expeditiously and in accordance with law. (M.W.
