By this Contempt Petition, the petitioner seeks an action against the respondent no.2, for wilful disobedience of the judgment, dated 19.3.2014, directing the respondents to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of one year from the date of the judgment. It is stated that despite the specific direction to decide the matter within a period of one year, the respondents have not taken any steps.
Mr. N.S.Khubalkar, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for respondent nos. 1 and 2 states on instructions from the respondent no.2, who is personally present in the Court, that due to the absence of Officers in the Committee, the Committee was not in a position to send the notice to the petitioner till 5th May, 2015. It is stated that the inaction on the part of the Committee is not deliberate and the respondent no.2 apologizes for the delay that was caused, due to unavoidable circumstances. It is stated on behalf of the respondents that the Committee would decide the caste claim of the petitioner as early as possible and positively by the end of the August 2015.
