Hearing was conducted through Video Conferencing and the learned counsel for the parties agreed that the audio and visual quality was proper. The question is of fixing of criteria of age for admission of students in first standard in the schools run in the State of Maharashtra. The Government Resolution dated 21.01.2015 and modification thereto on 23.01.2015 prescribe the criteria of six years completion of age as on 30th September. This has changed the earlier criteria of admission specified in earlier Government Resolution dated 11.06.2010.

This is a matter of policy and this Court cannot sit in appeal over the policy decision taken by

1709wp2261.20 the State of Maharashtra. Merely because C.B.S.E. Schools and other States criteria of completion of five years of age is prescribed, that cannot be a ground to challenge the Government Resolution.

Writ Petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
