Heard.

2.

The applicant is seeking bail in connection with Crime 141/2022 registered with M.I.D.C. Police Station, Akola for offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

3.

The learned trial Judge has rejected the application for bail on the ground that the investigation is at initial stage.

4.

However, what I find from the affidavit in response is that the allegation is that the applicant demanded bribe and the trap was successful. The voice sample is also collected and is sent for forensic analysis.

ba476.22.O.odt In such matters, continuing the incarceration would serve no purpose. The interest of the prosecution can as well be safeguarded by directing the applicant to appear before the Investigating Officer and extend all possible cooperation. 5.

The application is allowed.

6.

The applicant shall be released on bail subject to he furnishing P.R. bond in the sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh), and a surety of like amount, to the satisfaction of the learned trial Judge.

7.

The applicant shall report at the Anti Corruption Bureau, Akola every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m., till the filing of the charge-sheet and otherwise when his presence is required by the Investigating Officer.

8.

The applicant shall not make any attempt to influence the witnesses or otherwise to tamper with the evidence.
