This is an application for condonation of delay of Six months and 4 days caused in filing the appeal to challenge the order of conviction recorded by the Additional Sessions Judge, Amravati for the offence punishable under Section 376(2)(i)(j) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

The appellant is in jail from the date of conviction i.e. from 20.12.2019. It is stated that due to poor financial condition, the appellant was not able to engage advocate, and therefore, Legal Aid was provided the Advocate through High Court Legal Services SubCommittee, Nagpur was appointed who filed this appeal. These reasons canvassed for delay are very much sufficient. Hence, delay is condoned. Appeal be registered. The Criminal Application is allowed and disposed of accordingly.

The present appeal is against the order of conviction passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, Amravati on 20.12.2019 in Special Case No. 67 of 2017 for the offence punishable under Section 376(2)(i)(j) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

ADMIT.
