Having regard to Rule 9 of the Maharashtra Prisons (Furlough and Parole) Rules, 2024, as against cost of police escort of Rs.94,242/- estimated by the respondent/Authority, we permit the petitioner to deposit an amount of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) towards cost of police escort.

Once the amount of cost is deposited, the petitioner who is the only son of deceased Sadanand Chikhle, is permitted to have death parole leave of 48 hours.

The order dated 21/03/2025 granting death parole leave of 48 hours is modified accordingly.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
